Australian Drafting & Design is seeking an experienced Contract Project Engineer for a site-based role in Melbourne. This is a hands-on delivery role within a live manufacturing environment, supporting approved engineering projects through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering projects from handover to commissioning
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers, OEMs, and site teams
• Manage site works, shutdowns, installations, and toolbox meetings
• Support procurement, vendor coordination, and delivery tracking
• Assist with commissioning, handover, and project close-out
• Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and project status

Skills & Experience

• 5–8 years’ experience delivering engineering projects in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Strong experience with site works, contractor coordination, installation, and commissioning
• Good understanding of safety, procedures, and compliance in operational sites
• Strong reporting, coordination, and communication skills

Software

• Microsoft Office Suite – required
• SAP – highly regarded
• 2D AutoCAD – desirable

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering required

Highly Regarded

• Experience in food manufacturing / GMP environments
• Exposure to hazardous areas or minor building/services upgrades
